Evol Ladies Sweep Xilinx Podium

Evol went one-two-three at the first race of the Without Limits cyclocross series Saturday at Xilinx.

Melissa Barker, in her first year on the team, took the win, followed home by Jess Case and Kristin Legan.

"The goal from the start for the Evol girls was to try to sweep the podium," said Melissa. "Right off the start we all rode hard. I took the holeshot and kept the pace high until I bobbled in the lake/mud pit. Kristin and I rode together for the rest of the first lap.

"At the start of lap two, I pushed the pace and created a gap. I continued to ride steady in the technical sections and pushed the pace on each of the paved sections to try to increase my gap. By lap two I found the good line through the mud bog and was able to ride it smoothly and maintain my gap.

"Jess was coming strong from behind, which kept me on my game. Kristin had a good battle to secure the third podium spot for a EVOL podium sweep."
