We Opened Our Gifts Early

The local race scene wrapped up last weekend at Colorado State Championships. Weren't we just in Vegas last month for Interbike and Crossvegas? Wow. Nope, that was almost exactly three months ago. So what's next? Well, Grant is heading to Madison to cross swords with the best in the country at Nationals, and Scott and Spencer have already broken out the skis to enjoy the snow. More important than that are plans for next year's 'cross season. We're stepping it up big time. Expect to see more P2P racers, some elite ladies flying the colors and 375% more cowbell.

Since it is the holiday season, we'd be remiss if we didn't thank our team's Santa Clauses (or maybe Santa 'Cross?) for bringing us lots of gifts this season.

Specialized hooked us up with helmets, gloves and shoes which all fit marvelously and made us look good (especially the white shoes. White shoes are for closers). We also rocked their tires, the best tubulars on the market. Duga-who? Clem-what? The meaty Terras were especially clutch in the final snowy Colorado races.

If it wasn't for Curve, we'd be naked, which wouldn't work unless the only raced Single Speed Worlds (don't worry, link is PG-13). Really though, having an arsenal of longsleeve and shortsleeve skinsuits, thermal jackets, jerseys, and oodles of armwarmers, legwarmers, handwarmers, headwarmers, and platewarmers (okay I made up that last one) was essential.

At this point, you must be wondering, "What more could they need?" Well, can you eat tubulars or apparel? Nope. That's why we were pounding Mix1 and Breeze Bars when we got hungry at the races. Forget eggnog and stale Christmas cookies.

Last, but not least, Carroll Composites set us up with some fly carbon wheels that were making everyone jealous all season long. Can't wait to see more good stuff from them!

We hope your stockings are just as stuffed as ours this holiday season and wish you and yours the best in 2012!
