The 2012 'cross season kicked off in a big way at Valmont Bike Park on Sunday. And by big, we mean 842 racers big. Fortunately, our friends at Evol showed up with the big rig to keep everyone fed! The expanded Evol Elite Racing p/b Pharmaca team was on hand and threw down in the heat of the afternoon on a fast, dusty course that lived up to the hype of being the site for the 2014 U.S. National Championships. Leading the way for the ladies was Jess D'Amato in 16th, along with her compatriot Breeze Brown. They're both getting a feel for the wicked fast women's elite field and will look to progress throughout the season.
The men's event saw a stacked field as well, and the Evol dudes had a consistent showing with all five finishing in the top-20 and three in the top-15, with Spencer Powlison heading up the charge in 7th.
Grant Holicky, Breeze Brown and Scott Tietzel will head out to Interbike this week to race CrossVegas on Wednesday, so if you find yourself in Sin City, stop by the race to enjoy the action!
