We're still in that time of the year when sunscreen and moon dust are far more common than embrocation or mud at the average 'cross race. No matter, the Evol crew had a solid day at Xilinx, with Jess and Breeze hanging tough in the women's elite field and Spencer landing on the podium in the men's event.

Spencer made a last-ditch bid for the win at the end, bunnyhopping the barriers and moving up into second position before the sprint, but the lead three got tangled up in the final hairpin, and he was barely edged out for second. A few spectators said that it was one of the most exciting 'cross races they've seen, but don't worry, we've got lots more in store for when we get into the cold, muddy part of the season!
