Two races, two stories, two silvers

It was all about the team on Sunday - photo courtesy of Dejan Smaic, Sportifimages

The Evol Elite crew brought their A-game with two podium finishes this weekend, but the races couldn't have been more different. Saturday saw a return to the ever-popular Valmont Bike Park, with a new course that had lots of vertical, high-speed hardpack dirt and the usual berms and whoops that make it so fun. With the fast, tacky course and a stacked field, it was full-throttle from the gun. Spencer fought back and forth with the Boulder Cycle Sport guys before settling into 2nd and hanging tough to keep the silver medal, despite a vicious chase behind him.

Sunday, on the other hand, was a smooth, flat, grassy track that turned into a tactical shootout. With the leader well off the front and three Evol riders in the chase group, we knew we'd be able to take 2nd if we played our cards right. Sure enough, after a bit of back-and-forth in the group of six, Scott laid down a blistering attack and put his time trial skills to good use, motoring away and scoring his best-ever finish in a 'cross race.

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, we're thankful to have such a strong team to make this sort of thing happen, but we'd be remiss if we didn't thank our team members who don't necessarily kit up on on race day in pink and black. Thanks to our sponsors for their invaluable support!
