That's a wrap! No wait we're just starting!

After a super dry early winter that saw many getting out on the roads and trails, snow is now falling outside the window in Boulder as we officially say goodbye to the 2012-13 cyclocross campaign and hello to the 2013 mountain biking season. Many on the team have swapped their Cruxes from cross- to road-mode with skinny tires and big chainrings to rebuild base fitness and maintain form through the winter. And when conditions were prime, we even dabbled in a few cross-training events. Josh competed in his first ski mountaineering race at the Vail Mountain Games, covering 12 miles and 6,000 feet of climbing, and--just last weekend--he joined Spencer for some excellent backcountry turns high in the Sawatch Range, powered by Breeze Bars of course.

We're also very excited to announce that we have two new teammates for 2013: Ken Benesh and Kate Powlison. Ken wrapped up a superb season of mountain biking and cyclocross, finishing 3rd overall in the Cross Cup and 1st in the Boulder Racing Series, just ahead of Spencer and Josh. Kate brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the team. After completing the entire Tour de France route last summer with the Reve Tour, she took 1st overall in the Boulder Racing Cyclocross Series. We're expecting big things from our two new teammates and, in combination with our current roster and sponsors, we can't wait to get out this summer to race fat tires and bring the momentum into cyclocross season, which culminates with National Championships, hosted in Boulder, January 2014.

We're sad to see 'cross go, but were extremely pleased with how our team performed, both on course and in our community. Check out our super duper season summary below for the juicy highlights, and be sure to keep an eye out for us at many of the local Colorado mountain bike races through the spring and summer and some of the big time national Pro XCT races. Who knows, we may even drop into the occasional road race to spread the EVOL LOVE to our fellow roadies!
