CU Short Track Fundraiser

For well over a decade, the cycling community in Boulder has rallied for Wednesday night high-intensity mountain bike racing fun to benefit the University of Colorado-Boulder's cycling team.  Evening's are filled with cheering, laughter and hard racing for 20+ minutes for everyone from kids to pros. This year, race moved to Boulder's Valmont Bike Park and has benefited from a new venue and great weather.

Last week, Evol Racing and our sponsors chipped in, helping to set up the course, man registration and DJ, keeping the beats at a high tempo to match the challenging course. Oh yeah, and there were prizes 5 deep all night. We rewarded racers who braved the the infamous Belgian staircase and other rock features with mid-race handups for free burrito coupons, Goodbelly shot and deliciously dark Pharmaca chocolate bars.

The best part of the night was watching the kids and juniors battle it out like they were in a World Cup race. Everyone toed the line, ranging from six year old's on Striders, to a girl decked out in pink with a matching mohawk helmet, to juniors kitted out and looking so Pro. They all had that unique intensity in their eyes and a smile of joy on their face as they whizzed by. Inspiration was easy to come by with so many kids having fun on bikes.
