Digging Deep with Growe

People who ride bikes of any sort—cyclocross, mountain bike, even road—are used to getting dirty. Josh and Spencer spent last night in the soil, but they didn't even bring their bikes to the party. Nope, they were volunteering with The Growe Foundation to improve the garden at Mesa Elementary School in Boulder.

Growe provides educational opportunities for kids and families, focusing on healthy eating and environmental sustainability. Mesa's lush garden is part of Growe's Garden to Table Program, which teaches kids how to grow and prepare healthy food. We love all these things! It's a natural fit for the Evol team.

Tuesday's project was to install some edging around the garden, not a simple task considering the rocky ground. Fortunately, Spencer and Josh weren't alone. Friends from Evol Foods HQ and local breakfast spot, Snooze, chipped in to tackle the project.

Things looked pretty good at the end of the evening when the guys packed it in to refresh themselves with a few Upslope beers. They went home with blisters and sore shoulders, but Spencer and Josh also enjoyed the satisfaction of supporting a worthy cause.
